PROJECT PLANNING GUIDE

Planning solar fleet charging for your business

Build the charging plan from vehicle schedules, energy demand and site conditions.

Map a typical operating day

Record the number of vehicles, their duty cycles, departure and return times, and how much energy each needs to replenish. Separate normal operation from peak-demand days. A fleet with staggered charging can have different infrastructure needs from one charging all vehicles together.

Compare charging windows

Determine when charging can occur and which vehicles must be prioritised. Daily energy demand and simultaneous charging power are different planning inputs. Include the time available for removable batteries to return to service where relevant.

Review the source of energy

Check the available grid connection, existing PV equipment, suitable solar installation area and local solar conditions. Solar output varies over time. Storage may help shift energy availability, but it does not remove the need for site-specific sizing and an operating plan.

Confirm compatibility and responsibility

Match chargers to the vehicle or battery interface. Define the responsibilities for PV equipment, battery storage, power conversion, charging equipment, civil works and commissioning. Agree the operating and maintenance arrangements before finalising the supply scope.

Prepare an actionable brief

Collect a site sketch, fleet information, charger details, grid constraints and daily operating schedule. Use these to compare configurations and discuss a technical proposal. The final design must address local installation conditions and the actual equipment.

Planning guidance

Examples explain general principles. They do not establish the specification or performance of a particular evjrich product. Final selection requires the application and equipment details.
